Steve Ramon interview - Looking for title number three
Interview Friday 04th March 2010 By Geoff Meyer
Motorsportsalive: Steve, can you tell me how you felt in Mantova?
Ramon: I did Mantova was a good race for me. The racing was ok, the speed was there, I had three good starts, the only problem was I had arm pump, then I had to slow down, it was difficult to control the bike with arm pump, but the riding was good, better than I expected. It was difficult to go riding in Belgium in the winter and I only did one week in the south of France. Mantova I was happy for my first race, on the podium.
MXlarge: Then you rode at the Lommel International a week later. That was a strange race or not?
Ramon: Lommel was a strange race, the track was frozen and slippery, dangerous. I did my best, but also took it a little easy, no risks. It was important to watch out in Lommel, it was a race, but not what I expected.
MXlarge: A race that is always a little difficult is Valence. Many riders there, how did Valenxe go for you?
Ramon: Valence, that was again a good race. First moto 12th, again arm pump, my riding was going well, but I couldn’t push for the arm pump. The second moto my arms were better and the third moto the same. The second moto I finished second behind Cairoli and the third moto I lead for a while, and Cairoli passed me and my speed was there to follow him and finish just two or three seconds behind him.
MXlarge: Two World titles to your name, but a third would be nice. Many riders can win it though.
Ramon: Yes, my goal stays the world title. I feel good and the speed is there, so I don’t know why it wouldn’t happen. But like you say, there are more riders how has chance on the title.
