Brad Anderson and his Red Bull Pro Nationals victory
News Tuesday 15th March 2010
After a week of not riding due to a foot injury Brad Anderson made the decision to race at Foxhill and what a great decision it was. Brad came away with two very good race wins which even Brad himself was surprised about.
Brad Anderson – MX1
“I only made the decision to race Foxhill on Friday night as my foot still didn’t feel right, I’ve rested up all week apart from a 40 mile mountain bike ride. Sunday was good much better than I thought, I knew Swordy was going to be strong but I pushed on through the pain and got two wins, I’m really pleased to be honest. Bring on Mallory!”
We all know Martin Barr is a brave rider but how brave? Well on Wednesday last week Martin had surgery to fit plates into his smashed face after his training accident the week before, come Sunday he was racing at Foxhill.
Martin Barr – MX2
“I went for my operation on my face on Wednesday and was in hospital for three nights and had four plates and eight screws fixed in my cheek bone. Going into Sunday I was just going to ride for points and wasn't expecting any major results. I posted 5th fastest in qualifying and the day just got better. A third place in race one I was really happy with but race two I felt I could improve. I made a move on EBB with 3 laps to go but my face had totally swollen up and my eye had closed so I made the decision to settle for third again – a good weekend.”
Scott Elderfield – MX1 & MX2
Over at Mallory Park for round one of the British Masters Scott Elderfield rode both the MX1 and MX2 class. Looking fresh and raring to go Scott produced a dazzling display in MX2 chasing GP regular Zach Osborne all the way to the line for two mighty runners up spots. But in MX1 Scott really put his foot to the floor and showed why he’s one of the most talented riders in the UK. Scott was swapping places with Osborne for the entire race but come the finish line young Scott had the advantage and took the chequers. Race 2 was cancelled due to the event running out of time.
Luke Hawkins – MX2
PAR Honda’s youngest member Luke Hawkins once again produced two very solid race results to finish 11th in a stacked quality MX2 field.
The whole team now head to Mallory Park this weekend for round 2 of the Maxxis British championship where Brad leads the MX1 and Martin is in third in the MX2 class.
